Readings: Psalm 24 | Jeremiah 46:18-28 | Revelation 21:5-27
Psalm 24 invites us into a vision where the King of Glory enters, not just into ancient Jerusalem but into every space we’ve guarded too tightly. The psalm begins by declaring that the earth is the Lord’s, but many of us still live as if our anxieties, ambitions, and timelines belong solely to us. When the psalm asks, “Who may ascend the hill of the Lord?” it isn’t gatekeeping; it’s calling us to unclench our hearts.
Modern life trains us to close doors, protecting our peace, our brand, our energy. But maybe the deeper spiritual discipline is opening the gates to the One who brings restoration instead of depletion. God is not another demand on your schedule; He is the presence that reorders everything toward goodness.
Today’s challenge is to create space: in your thoughts, your routines, your reactions. Let the King of Glory enter not as a guest, but as the rightful ruler. What would it look like to let God set the rhythm of your week instead of pressure, fear, or the constant demand to produce?
Devotional Prompts:
- What parts of your life feel “closed” to God?
- How does welcoming God’s presence change how you handle stress?
- Where is God asking you to open the gates this week?
Prayer: King of Glory, enter the gates of our hearts. Make space within us for Your presence, Your guidance, and Your renewing power. Strengthen us to walk in Your ways. Amen.
