Readings: Psalm 98 | 1 Samuel 28:3-19 | Romans 1:18-25
Psalm 98 bursts with song: “Sing to the Lord a new song, for He has done marvelous things!” Yet the accompanying readings from 1 Samuel and Romans remind us that rebellion and denial still plague human hearts. Even as creation sings, humanity resists the Creator.
The gospel calls us back into harmony. Paul writes that truth is clear in creation, but people suppress it. The good news is that Christ restores our hearing. Through Him, the old song of self gives way to the new song of grace. Worship is not an escape from the world’s noise but a declaration that love has the final word.
When we praise God, we join a cosmic chorus that defies despair. Even when life feels dissonant, our worship proclaims that the Lord reigns. Every act of gratitude is a verse in God’s redemption song.
Devotional Prompts:
- What “new song” is God inviting you to sing today?
- How can worship reshape your perspective on brokenness?
- Where do you see creation reflecting God’s glory?
Prayer:
Lord of all creation, tune my heart to Your melody of grace. May my praise rise above fear and reflect Your marvelous love to the world. Amen.
