Readings: Psalm 17:1–9 | Deuteronomy 25:5–10 | Acts 22:22–23:11

David’s cry, “Keep me as the apple of your eye,” expresses the deep longing of a soul seeking God’s vindication. In Deuteronomy, the command regarding family duty shows that covenant faithfulness is not abstract—it’s expressed in the care and continuity of God’s people. In Acts, Paul’s courage before hostile crowds reveals the same pattern: trust, obedience, and divine protection.

Faith gives us new eyes—heaven’s eyes—to see beyond conflict, accusation, and fear. Like David, we learn to appeal not to our own strength but to God’s steadfast love. Like Paul, we find courage when we remember that the Lord stands near, saying, “Take courage, for as you have testified about me in Jerusalem, so you must also testify in Rome.”

God’s justice and mercy are not competing forces; they converge in His faithfulness. The One who sees our hearts also shields us in His love.

Devotional Prompts:

  • Where do you need God’s vindication or reassurance today?
  • How can you see your circumstances through the lens of His faithfulness?
  • What does it mean for you to “take courage” in your witness?

Prayer:
Faithful Lord, teach me to see through heaven’s eyes. Guard me under the shadow of Your wings and give me courage to stand firm in Your truth. Amen.
