Readings: Isaiah 33:17-22 | Revelation 22:8-21
Isaiah paints a picture of hope: “Your eyes will see the King in His beauty.” It’s a needed correction in a cultural moment obsessed with what is broken, corrupt, or spiraling out of control. Doomscrolling trains our eyes to expect disappointment. But Isaiah invites us to look higher, to the beauty, stability, and justice of God’s reign.
Seeing the King changes how we see ourselves. We stop reacting to chaos and start responding to calling. The security God provides isn’t naïve optimism; it’s rooted in His sovereignty. When fear narrows your vision, God widens it. When uncertainty crowds your thoughts, God grounds them in His rule.
Today, resist the gravitational pull of negativity. Fix your eyes on the King, because whatever holds your attention eventually shapes your hope.
Devotional Prompts:
- What dominates your vision, fear or hope? (be honest with yourself)
- How does seeing God’s beauty change your perspective?
- Where is God expanding your vision?
Prayer: God of beauty, lift our eyes beyond fear so that we may see Your majesty. Anchor our hope in Your reign and steady us with Your peace. Amen.
